Craftsman Remodel

The architect worked to solve spatial and functional problems, capitalized the daylight basement's potential, and added a full 2nd story for bedrooms, baths, and laundry. The original Tudor-style interior was maintained and expanded on the main floor—mahogany pilasters, moldings and cabinets were added or rehabilitated and modern updates integrated. An open, flowing sense of space from family room to kitchen to dining and living rooms replaced the original closed, separate spaces. The basement was designed with a home theater, play & craft area, and guest quarters. Close collaboration between Architect and Owner made this house their own.
